Our Event Space
What began as an old warehouse in Clear Lake, WI—once home to various manufacturing businesses—slowly transformed into something none of us quite expected: a warm, lively gathering place built from love, community, and a shared passion for good company.
When Matt purchased the building, his only intention was to store and showcase his classic car collection. But life has a way of expanding simple plans. After meeting his future wife, Dena, and becoming part of her busy home filled with three energetic daughters, Matt envisioned something more than a storage space. He imagined a place where friends could gather, stories could be shared, and good memories could have a home.
That idea became to have his own personal bar, Last Call Bar.
The warehouse was rebuilt into a unique man cave bar—an inviting backdrop for classic cars, music, and conversation. As the space grew, so did the dreams behind it. The couple decided to finish out the space that is now the Speakeasy to host two meaningful celebrations: their wedding dance and the oldest daughter’s graduation party. Those special moments became the spark that set the tone for everything the Speakeasy would become.
In a close-knit small town like ours, word travels fast. It wasn’t long before friends, neighbors, and community members began asking if they could host their own celebrations in the space. And for Matt and Dena, sharing the Speakeasy felt natural. Seeing people enjoy the atmosphere they poured so much love into brought them joy.
Today, the Speakeasy continues to evolve—not just as a gathering place, but as a family venture. The girls pitch in to help maintain and prepare the space, learning the value of hard work, hospitality, and community. What started as one man’s dream for his car collection has grown into a family venture rooted in creativity, connection, and a deep appreciation for the people around us.
At its heart, the Speakeasy is more than a venue—it's a reflection of family, history, and hometown spirit. We’re grateful to share it with you and honored every time it becomes the backdrop for someone else’s memories.
